This month saw the launch of Skimkit, an Adobe Air desktop app developed by Skimlinks and designed by Manifest that helps online publishers make money from their content. We think it's pretty amazing, but don't just take our word for it...
Skimlinks is a pioneering technology start-up based in the heart of London's 'Silicon Roundabout' - an area near Old Street that has been the birthplace of dozens of web start-ups such as Last.fm.
Following our involvement in the London Nude Tech 2010 charity calendar (for which Skimlinks founders Alicia Navarro and Joe Stepniewski posed!), Skimlinks approached Manifest to help them design a cutting-edge desktop application they were working on.
We soon realised that Skimkit was more than a straightforward application - it was a genuinely game-changing tool that transforms the process of adding product links in content and also lets you earn money from them (using the Skimlinks technology).
We developed the design of Skimkit with ease-of-use in mind, and with careful guidance from Skimlinks we put together a bold and simple application that not only looks great, but augments the Skimlinks process.
Aside from the user interface itself, we also helped to develop marketing collateral for Skimlinks, from printed materials to email newsletters, establishing a look and feel for Skimkit that will appeal to online publishers of any variety and provide a call-to-action for those still coordinating affiliate marketing the hard way.
